What wud you die for?

Today's ODB says:

He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. —Isaiah 53:5

When Jesus died upon the cross
He took our sin and shame;
He offers us His righteousness,
A gift that we must claim. —Sper

HE died for you and for me! HE died that we may have life! HE died because HE loves us! HE died while we were yet sinners! What would you die for or rather Who would you live for?

Peace!

Go USA!

Serena Williams beat Maria Sharapova 6-1: 6:2. Man that was some game! Right from the get-go the unseeded two-time Aussie Open Champion was dominating. She showed some serious Tennis skills! Though it was a Serena-Dominated game, it was good to watch her play her best tennis ever. Flawless!

So Vimal, Ranjani, Rufus and Cherub got here from Wichita @ around 10PM last night. Sanjith, Sushil, Menaka & Ranjit joined a lil' later. We had dinner and then the discussion began...about the Bible and Theology and what not! It started up light but turned out to be one heated one. It was fun though. Everybody participated. So by the time we retired it was almost 4AM.

Well we have a bunch of things planned today! Lotsa exciting things, eplly, "Paint Ball" :-)

Anyways ODB for today:
Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. —Romans 13:14

When temptation’s darts assail us, When in devious paths we stray, Let Your goodness never fail us, Lead us in Your perfect way. —Hastings

Colts Vs Bears

Wow, what a weekend that was! I thought the Colts almost lost it! But no, my man, Manning, wouldn't give up! Great game! Though a part of me wanted Brady to come back with 1 minute left, but th at thought was almost immediately crushed by the cornerback Marlin Jackson's last-minute interception. And first ever Black Head coach to take a NFL team to the super bowl and there are two...How about that? It is going to be interesting with Lovie Smith's Defense and Tony Dungy's Offense led by my man Manning! Will be interesting!

GO COLTS!

What is worthwhile under the sun?

Today's ODB reading says:

It is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. —Matthew 19:23

The riches of this world are vain,
They vanish in a day;
But sweet the treasures of God’s love—
They never pass away! —Bosch

Does that mean I can just spend my money fooolishly? Does that mean I dont study hard and work hard?? NOOO! God expects us to be good stewards of the resources HE gives us: Money, Wisdom, Time so on and so forth. But the problem is when we give these "resources" so much importance that we forget the "source". Do not depend on what you have but on the ONE who gave it to you in the first place. Always be grateful and shun pride!
Peace!

Snow in Texas

Snow in Texas
Man can you believe that! Snow in Texas! It was beautiful! The roads were crazy though, people driving @ 20 mph on the highway. Took me twice the time to get to work! But hey, I got here safe! Thank God for that! And my car was all iced up on Monday! Check out the pictures! Me been sick the last two days! Feeling tons better now! Picked up my buddy Sushil and his new bride Menaka from the airport yesterday! Good to finally see him married and all! In the evening, picked up Ranjit from DTS and went over to Sushil's new apartment and ate dinner there and watched the Mavs destroy the Rockets in the 4th quarter! GO MAVS! They are the best! Hope the make it to the finals this year and win. They are a much better team than last year!

Today's ODB,

The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. —1 Corinthians 1:18
Which way will you take? The question is clear—
The choice you must make with a heart sincere;
To Jesus the Lord you now are inclined—
Today is the day to make up your mind. —Hess

What Do I Owe?

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left a
crimson stain He washed it white as snow
- by Elvira Hall (1820-1889)

Amazing is'nt it? Often times we forget this simple fact!

Today's ODB!

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. —Psalm 46:1
Though oceans roar and mountains quake,
And enemies deride,
We do not have to be afraid—
The Lord is by our side. —Sper

Peace!

Wednes dei

The name "Wednesday" comes from the Middle English Wednes dei, which is from Old English Wodnes dæg, meaning the day of the Germanic god Woden who was a god of the Anglo-Saxons in England until about the 7th century AD. Thanks to wikipedia! :-)

So finally I managed to go to the Christian store to get my new book. Been bored since I finished my last read.."Three" by Ted Dekker. I hear it's come out as a motion picture now. Well this time I got the book "The Visitation" by Frank Peretti. "Three" was good book, really enjoyed reading it. You should check it out!

Today's ODB reading!

Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise. —Luke 23:43
We are with Him and He with us;
Great confidence this gives
To face life’s trials and even death
Because our Savior lives. —D. De Haan

Amen to that eh? Peace!

No Worries!

No worries at all? What? How can that be? I know thats how you feel when somebody says "Dont worry". Or the famous or rather infamous response is "You have no idea what I am going through". But today's ODB reading and the Bible beg to differ! Check it out!

A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. —Proverbs 16:9

Should mystery enshroud His plan
And our short sight be dim,
We will not try the whole to scan
But leave each thread to Him.
There you go! Thats why we should not worry..cos HE is in control. So, when the creator of the Universe, the Almight King of Kings is in control of your life, hey whats there to worry???
Yesterday was a quiet day! Solved yet another citical issue at work! Had our friends Vinod, Dorcas and lil' Nidhi over for dinner. Played some toy car racing with V and crashed, after our guests left. So quiet day!
Peace!

Nueva Semana

New Week! Thank God for the past one! Well let me start by commenting on the Mavs. That was a close loss yesterday. We had the game, dominated throughout and lost! Man...not cool! Bad week for Dallas! :-) Anyways ODB verse of the day:

Let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, . . . stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel. —Philippians 1:27

Yielding your all to the Savior
And letting His love flow through you
Makes even your silent witness
A witness of what God can do. —Bosch

Amen to that! Peace!

It's over!

That was a terrible way to end the season. We were almost there! Almost....! Oh well its all good, maybe next season eh? Go Cowboys!!! Had a great time yesterday over @ Sam's place. Good food, good work out. It was really cold and we played in an open court! Not sure about the others, but I had a great work out...we might play again today! Anyways need to run and get ready for church! First Sunday of the Year! But before I go, the ODB verse of the day!

What is man that You are mindful of him? —Psalm 8:4

Father, thank You that You have made us the objectof
Your love. We are amazed at Your forgiveness
and grace. Help us to see ourselves as small
and to marvel at Your great love.
Powerful verse! Reminds us how small we are and at the same time it reminds us how big and mighty is the GOD we believe and serve! What a love! Perfect!
Peace!

Mavs all the way!

Did you see Dirky? 36 points, season high against the SPURS!! Hahahaha! Amazing! Overjoyed!
Anyways it was a good day yesterday, got some important issues solved @ work! Good way to wrap up the week. Well it is Saturday today! Well today is lil' Nathan's birthday. So going to Allen, followed by some basketball with the boys. Should be fun! And its supposed to be a cold one today! We'll see how it goes.

Today's ODB reading:

She, out of her poverty put in all that she had. —Mark 12:44

If you cannot give your thousands,
You can give the widow’s mite,
And the least you do for Jesus
Will be precious in His sight. —Anon.

No words to describe this. All I can say is "I am guilty". Need to give more! One of those things you always know, but choose not to do. Not Good!

Peace!

Friday, January 5, 2007

Wow It's Friday!

I know! That was a fast week, but no complaints here! :-) Well had a good day yesterday amidst a lot of issues @ work! And God proved to me yet another time that HE is the MAN!! Something that we were praying for, for a while, happened so smoothly and subtly yesterday! Awesome God! And today's ODB reading says the same too!

[Abraham] believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. —Genesis 15:6

Not so in haste, my heart!
Have faith in God, and wait;
Although He seems to linger long,
He never comes too late. —Torrey

Yes Sir! It is always worth the wait! Might be a few pointless innings, but a home run is coming! So Hang in There!!!

And the Mavs beat the Pacers last night! GO MAVS!

Peace!

What worse could happen?

Whats up Y'all? Yesterday was a very very challenging day @ work! A lot of issues! I almost gave up! But by God's grace was able to cruise past it and was able to solve most issues. Sometimes its easy to give up when we face problems and impossible situations, but it is wiser to push on. The evil ones wants us to give up, but hey, whats the fun in that? I guess we need to develop an attitude of "What worse could happen?" And I guess answering that question in any situation will help you focus on the present and help you just zip past the mountain in no time. Its never easy, but I am sure it is worth the try!

Today's ODB reading,

By faith Abraham obeyed . . . . And he went out, not knowing where he was going. —Hebrews 11:8

Someday my earthly house will fall
I cannot tell how soon ’twill be;
But this I know—my All in All
Has now a place in heaven for me. —Crosby

Peace!

Hump Day!

Well the first working day of the year was phenomenal. My wife felt much better and she was up and running yesterday! Is that cool or what? PTL!!!

Anyways new day new mercies! Today's ODB reading verse is awesome man:

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. —Colossians 3:2

I bet that will solve most of the problems of this world - cos the minute you stop focussing on the things of the world, you lose your pride and the minute you lose your pride and ego, no more arguments, no more wars, no more heartaches, no more worries. Simple but yet almost impossible to achieve. Nevertheless, we need to not stop pursuing it. I am sure it will all be worth it in the end!

Peace!
