My brother suggested I read the lyrics of the popular song 'Cats in the Cradle'. Quite interesting, I must say! Heard it a million times before, but now it sounded different! Simple yet profound! Well here it goes!
My child arrived just the other day
He came to the world in the usual way
But there were planes to catch and bills to pay
He learned to walk while I was away
And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it, and as he grew
He'd say "I'm gonna be like you dad
You know I'm gonna be like you"
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When you comin' home dad?
I don't know when, but we'll get together then son
You know we'll have a good time then
My son turned ten just the other day
He said, "Thanks for the ball, Dad, come on let's play
Can you teach me to throw", I said "Not today
I got a lot to do", he said, "That's ok"
And he walked away but his smile never dimmed
And said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah
You know I'm gonna be like him"
Well, he came home from college just the other day
So much like a man I just had to say
"Son, I'm proud of you, can you sit for a while?"
He shook his head and said with a smile
"What I'd really like, Dad, is to borrow the car keys
See you later, can I have them please?"
I've long since retired, my son's moved away
I called him up just the other day
I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind"
He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I can find the time
You see my new job's a hassle and kids have the flu
But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad
It's been sure nice talking to you"
And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me
He'd grown up just like me
My boy was just like me
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When you comin' home son?
I don't know when, but we'll get together then son
You know we'll have a good time then!

Austin
So we were in Austin this weekend, at our friend's place! Did absolutely nothing but relax and eat! It was a great break. Wify had a lot of fun! It was good to see her eat! Funny how the terrain in Austin is. Very pretty! Just 3 hours South-West of Dallas and you have this beautiful hill country! Anyways it was a good break. Back to work today...back to good ol' Dallas...back to normal...back to reality!
Almost missed picking Namho from the airport! Anyways he called at the right time! Picked him and had a very greasy breakfast! Big mistake! Either way, it's all good!
Peace!

Good Day!
Well Monday was a holiday! President's Day! First time ever I am getting a day off on President's Day! So it was pretty cool! And so Tuesday rolls by! Had to get up early to drop Uncle and Aunty at the airport. But it was pretty late when we went to bed! (chatting away) So when I got up early on Tuesday Morning, I was not in a very amicable mood. Then Deepa had to say something which ticked me off even further! Then on the way back from the airport, Traffic Jam! Can you believe it? So anyways, I hop on to V's car; really tired and crazy mad! But as we got on to the HOV lane and as V was drving at around 50 mph a very brilliant driver almost cut into our lane, but suddenly noticed us and cut back out. Scared the crap out of us! And guess what? Made me extra-super mad now! And to top it all, I found out that the phone I bought just a few months back (from Ebay ofcourse) quit working and the replacement costs a fortune! And then when you think it doesnt get any worse than this, things at work suprisingly decided to quit working!
So when I was amidst this crazy worn-out day, I get a phone call from my sweet wify from the doctor's office! And then she told me that everything looks good, and my boy looks very healthy in the womb and so is the wife! That's it man! That did it! A wave of joy and gratitude swept through me and I was suddenly overwhelmed with excitement and sheer bliss! And then looking back at the traffic, my phone, work, drive to work...nothing seemed to look awful no more! I inadvertently started to look at everything in a diferent persepctive! I realized I can always get some sleep tonight. I realized that inspite of the traffic jam I got to work on time! I realized how big a danger God has saved me from in that HOV lane and that it was just a phone! I unwittingly became consicous of the fact that life was bigger than my inconsequential and trivial qualms.
Call it profound or enlightening or obvious or even obscure! But I choose to call it a "Miracle". The miracle of life! The miracle of life in our Good Lord! So Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls....Have a great day and cherish every bit of it!
Peace!

Rodeo

So we were at the Fort-Worth Stockyards this weekend! And decided to watch the Rodeo show! I must admit, I wasn't very excited about the fact that we need to pay $11 for 10 people just to watch a bunch'a guys riding horses. But dude, when we stepped into that arena it was a whole different ball game..especially the Cowgirls! It was awesome! LOL! So anyways we got so carried away that I even let Ranjit convince me into buying a cowboy hat! The Brown Cowboys! LOL! Anyways it was a lot of fun! I heard we missed the bull fighting and a lot of other stuff cos we had to leave early! Well hope to make it again some other time to watch the horses and bull fighting and oh yeah..did I mention the Cowgirls?? :)
Peace!

Blessed??!!??
Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them saying:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
Matthew 5: 1-12
Phenomenal isnt it. Goes against everything this world talks about!

Colts - World Champions! :-)

It was beautiful! May HIS name be glorified in all we do!
We watched the game @ Sushil's with Ranjit & Deepu! We were all rooting for the Colts and it was a treat! I helped the ladies cook Tandoori Chicken and Sushil brought some Naan and Mena had some Chicken curry! It was fun. I pity Anil though. He was the only one rooting for the Bears! But hey, it is all about wise decisions isnt it? Its alrite Anil, maybe next time!
It is an interesting day for me! Will let y'all know about it tomorrow!
Peace!
