When?

50,000 feared dead in China. 133,000 people missing or dead in Myanmar. There are people dying by the hundreds and thousands all around the world. Men, women, kids...dying possibly without the hope and the assurance of heaven & eternity. And then we hear about people complaining about God being portrayed as a man and that it is offensive to the women. So they have come up with gender-neutral prayer book so that everybody is happy!
Man! What a bunch of selfish people we have all become! The media promotes the concept of "You". What have "you" done for yourself lately? "You" need a vacation! "You" need this! "You" need that! "You" deserve this! "You!" "You!" "You!". Even the idea of serving others revolves around how good "you" feel about doing so! We have all dedicated ourselves to the relentless pursuit of gratifying ourselves! And the end to such a distressing hunt is that it doesn't have one. When will we wake up to realize that life is bigger than the next best thing? When will our eyes of understanding be opened to perceive the great commission set before us? When will we realize that it is not about us, but something larger and eternal? When? When?
